Biel is the metropolis of Swiss watch-making industry. Rolex and Omega, which are the
worlds leading brand, have their headquaters in Biel.

The location makes the town an attractive starting point for excursions and holiday around the

lakes of Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten. This region is known as the “Three Lakes Region” with the
hillside vineyards.

Within 10 minutes a cable car takes you from the town 438 meters up to Magglingen, were the

national sports training center is located. Visitors of Magglingen have an outstanding pano-
ramic view to the mountain range of Berner Oberland. Another nice view is from Bözingen-

berg where you can see the three lakes of Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten.
